Open Standards
SIPeerior is committed to providing products based on open standards. Our products are based on SIP, the Session Initiation Protocol. SIP is the IETF defined protocol for VoIP. We are actively engaged in the IETF, and participate in all of the major telephony working groups within the IETF, particularly the P2PSIP Working Group, which is co-chaired by SIPeerior's David A. Bryan.
Our adherence to open standards ensures that products based on SIPeerior technology will interoperate with as many other vendor's solutions as possible -- out of the box today and in the future. Your customers will be more comfortable deploying solutions that "play well with others". We are committed to ensuring that our applications stay current as these standards evolve.
Before looking at a P2P VoIP solution, make sure it works fully with SIP. Ask if traditional SIP devices such as UAs and gateways can be made to interoperate. Can third party SIP devices be incorporated? Ask if the system can use a SIP trunk service for termination. Are features such as call transfer and call forwarding implemented using the methods outlined in the IETF SIP documents? Can calls be transferred back and forth between the P2P and non-P2P SIP phones in a network?
SIPeerior offers the highest SIP compatibility available today because the SIPeerior solution uses only SIP for call signalling.
